Akemi Asakawa (浅川 明美 Asakawa Akemi) is a second-year student who is on the Machido High School kendo team. Akemi’s mood depends largely on her relationship with her boyfriend as her phone is always either in her hand or nearby that she is always waiting on a text or call. She constantly ditches practice to go on dates, something that the rest of the team has gotten used to and ignores. Whenever she is having a problem with her boyfriend she will become upset and lose any sort of motivation to do kendo, causing her to go on a lazy defense during matches. However, when she is happy she will put in all her effort and becomes a formidable opponent.
