She loves to seek supernatural stories, contrasting to her uncle and Hodaka Morishima who only seek them for money. Natsumi is a friendly and good-hearted person, as she objects to Keisuke's abusive payment to Hodaka. She doesn't hesitate to commit crimes to help her friends and also for the sake of thrilling. Natsumi is also a little mischievous as she teases Hodaka for staring at her chest. She is lazy, seductive, she has an elder sister aura ("ara ara") and is seen to be borrowing money often. She is named from the Japanese word 夏 (natsu) meaning "summer" and 美 (mi) meaning "beautiful". It can also come from 菜 (na) meaning "vegetables, greens" and 摘 (tsumi) meaning"pick, pluck or sin".
