Rei Mitsuba

Mitsuba Rei (三葉レイ) was a Japanese Virtual YouTuber who made livecoding videos of Computer Graphics projects. She made her debut in June 2018. Rei's finished projects include a ray tracer and a rasterizer. She also had an unfinished video series about Physically Based Rendering. Rei helped to eliminate a sampling bug in the code written by one of her "students." Rei found that the student's sampling function was different from the one used in the video, and proposed to make the implementation consistent with the underlying mathematics. Rei showed interests in and contributed code to Lightmetrica, a research-oriented renderer. Rei's video footage was used in the trailer of Shader Showdown 2019, a competitive programming event.
