Rydia

A young girl from the village of Mist, the town where mages train in Summon Magic. When Cecil accidentally destroys her home and kills all the other Summoners, Rydia is the last of them and is taken to safety by Cecil, who earns her trust and aid in fighting Baron. At one point the party is attacked by Leviathan at sea and Rydia is washed overboard and presumed dead. In reality Leviathan attacked the ship to get to her, and takes her to the Feymarch, the home of the Eidolons. There Rydia trains under the King and Queen of Eidolons to hone her powers, the time difference between dimensions causing her to age many years by the time she returns to aid Cecil again.
